Day 1 of the European Poker Tour started off this past Saturday 1st of October in London. It rounded up 691 runners with a ?5000 by amounting to a pot of ? 3.35 million to be divided up between 102 player to cash in this tournament. Nonetheless Day 1A was lead by Lukasz Golczyk who started off Day 2 with 211,600 in chips representing the overall lead in the tournament and the only player reach above the 200,000 mark on Day 1. The other two players who mark off the top 5 starting the tables on Sunday were Umberto Vitagliano and Steven Warburton.
Notable player who have been eliminated as of Day 1 were Daniel Negreanu and Vanessa Selbst. Former European Poker Tour Champions like Vicky Coren, David Williams and Jason Mercier who didn’t make it into the top players on Saturday managed to stay in for playing on Sunday. From the 280 players who started Day 1A only 162 survivved.
Day 2 has seen some harsh movements for some the chip leaders from Day 1, like starting leader Golczyk moved slowly putting him quickly in 8th place half-way along day 2. Other pros were eliminated early on Day 2 including the 2009 World Series of Poker bracelet winner Ville Wahlbeck as well as Bonomo Asdrubal Cabrera Youth Jersey , Noah Boeken, Chris Moorman and Soren Kongsgaard.
At the start of the final level of Day 2 Matthigs Remie took the chip lead with 390,000.
